CIM Concepts uses MRTG on Linux to monitor router traffic, UPS status, and environmental conditions in the computer room, both internally and at client sites.

One of our clients had a server with repeated hard drive failures, for which excessive heat in the attic computer room were a suspected factor. Collecting data from an environmental sensing unit, MRTG allows easy tracking and verification of acceptable temperature and humidity conditions over time.
