Installed a new CIMserv process data server on-site and migrated in standby mode. Added software and data mirror software needed for remote access through a heavily restricted network infrastructure.

Researched options for remote access to PCN servers within the client's usage policies. Developed options to retrieve large volumes of process history data from a contract manufacturer without a network connection.

Investigated presumed nominal-vs-observed speed differences on a routing machine and followed up with a profilometer vendor. Corrected scan parameters in trial run data files to account for the actual difference in configured vs actual scan sample rate. Regenerated the statistics data and provided an updated data analysis summary report.

Followed up on mass balance data problems, mostly due to unusual process/equipment conditions not yet covered in the underlying feed/product stream models. Followed up on environmental calculation issues. Discovered and corrected a problem in the tag loader logic for a data historian program.

Wrote an N-month rolling average script for a historian database system. Investigated the cause of missing rollup data (invalid source tag statuses) and implemented a temporary work-around.

Added logic to the an exceedance monitoring script to extract all current configuration block settings at start-up time and to post-process it into a CSV file loadable from a web server.

Worked with the client's corporate IT department to move a failing SQL Server DTS package to a local server and set it up for repeated hourly retries until it succeeds for the day.

Set up a data archival system for fast-growing quality test results data tables, after working with the client to determine the appropriate data retention period in various data categories.

Installed compatibility components to allow existing SQL 2005 DTS (Data Transformation Services) packages to be edited on a SQL 2005 server.

Installed the OpenAdmin web-based administration tool for a new Informix 11.5 database instance.

Installed and configured Vipre Antivirus from Sunbelt Software.

Designed a centralized isolation (lockout/tagout) database application at a client's request.

Traveled to a client's headquarters to provide local site input to process control network (PCN) security policy.

Extended the PCN into a remote location Triconex SIS startup support over a non-routed VLAN. Prepared the network environment on the PCN for a new development/test AW for PCEs.

Finalized design work on environmental calculations based on refinery real-time data.

Set up an Excel 2007 application scheduler environment on a virtual server and tested scheduled spreadsheet execution.

Kicked off a project to build an automated data feed of warehoused SAP QM data into an Infinity Proficient SQC database.

Performed statistical analysis of scanned profilometer data vs. optically measured profile data. Updated the VB.NET profilometer user interface program and statistical analysis tools to add more processing options and improve the data presentation / reporting capabilities.

Completed a QI Analyst 4.2 to 8.0 migration test for a client. Provided recommendations and step-by-step instructions for the coming upgrade.

Monitor network, server, and workstation status for a multi-site automotive dealership under a managed services provider contract. Respond to on-call issues as needed. Provide access to the monitoring interface for client use via the public internet.

Monitor and maintain production SQL Server instances, including backup jobs, scheduled report delivery, and data replication. Develop custom queries and data views to support business reporting needs.

Monitor client Oracle databases and Oracle Enterprise Manager jobs.

Provide systems and network support for a large multi-node Foxboro I/A server network. Manage monitoring tools to track, report and notify clients of problems with servers, devices, and network utilization.

Provide Active Directory and DNS maintenance support for a large network with over 600 workstations. Install current MS patches on control network servers and workstations and reboot as needed.

Provide network and system administrative support for a small business client. Perform Windows updates and patches using WSUS. Resolve day-to-day issues with printers, e-mail, server backups, and logon accounts.

Provide network and systems support for a mid-size retail dealership. Remove viruses as needed. Resolve OutLook Express e-mail issues. Support iPrism internet filtering appliance.

Augment IT staff on a long-term basis at a manufacturing client. Perform application support, environmental compliance systems support, LIMS system consulting, database administration, help desk response, and after-hours callout support.
