What Does "CIM" Stand For?

"CIM" is an acronym for "Computer Integrated Manufacturing", a term that was popular a decade or two ago to describe plant-floor automation and data integration.  According to wikipedia online:

• Computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) is manufacturing supported by computers. It is the total integration of Computer Aided Design / Manufacturing and also other business operations and databases.

When CIM Concepts was first incorporated, "CIM" stood for Computer Integrated Manufacturing in the sense defined above.
